  • The archaeological site of Escolives Sainte Camille Be an archaeologist for a visit to the Gallo-Roman site of Escolives!

Located on the ancient Roman road known as Agrippa, just 3 km from the campsite, this site was occupied throughout the Gallo-Roman period, between the end of the 1st century AD and the end of the 5th century AD.

However, the Escolives site is of national interest for another reason: sculpted blocks have been found in the foundations of the thermal baths of the 4th-century villa. These blocks come from religious monuments, the most important of which is a portico surrounding the sacred space.

Admire the high quality of these sculptures, making Escolives a benchmark site for sculpture in northern Gaul.

  • The Arcy caves Dive back in time and into the bowels of the earth just 18 km south of the campsite.

Venture to the heart of Burgundy in the midst of protected nature to discover an exceptional sight: a series of caves carved out by the river La Cure in the coral massif of Arcy.

Explore the eleven prehistoric caves, the Grande Grotte ornée, the quarry containing Merovingian sarcophagi, the Via Agrippa and the Cure... all vestiges of human occupation dating back over 200,000 years.

  • The Bailly Lapierre cellars A real jewel in the Auxerrois region, the hamlet of Bailly in the Burgundy village of Saint-Bris-le-Vineux is the birthplace of AOC Crémant de Bourgogne.

Bailly Lapierre makes its Crémant de Bourgogne in an exceptional setting: an underground stone quarry offering unique natural conditions.

Their wines are made from the finest grapes, harvested by hand, then patiently vinified and matured.

Discover this magical place and their winemaking secrets on a guided tour, a walk through the vines or a guided tasting session.

Enjoy a short walk to explore this site just 2.50 km south of the campsite.

  • Château de Saint Fargeau Travel back in time as soon as you cross the threshold of the Château de Saint-Fargeau, whose history spans 10 centuries.

Let your steps be your guide and discover the many facets of this pink brick giant, a witness to the history of Puisaye and the history of France.

Visit the flats, the chapel, the guard room, the toy loft, the carpentry, the steam locomotives, the stables and the 120 hectares of English parkland...

  • The Guédelon site The Guédelon medieval construction site is a must-see, just forty kilometres from the campsite.

Meet the group of die-hard enthusiasts who have decided to embark on a crazy adventure: building a fortified castle using techniques and materials from the Middle Ages.

In the forest of Guédelon, in the heart of an old sandstone quarry, quarrymen, stonemasons, masons, lumberjacks, carpenters, blacksmiths, tilers, cartwrights and tailors are building a 13th-century fortified castle before your very eyes.

Take a trip back in time with a visit to this site, the only one of its kind in the world, and talk to the workers and craftsmen on the job: they'll share with you the amazing adventure of the builders of the Middle Ages.

Allow an average of 4 hours for your visit. You'll have the opportunity to dine on local produce.

You can also take advantage of your trip to visit the Château de Saint Fargeau, around ten kilometres away.
